Heirloom-quality Kubb sets in finished hardwood. Built for backyards, beaches and long summer evenings that run past sunset.

(01) The set

Ten kubbs. One king. Endless summers.

Kubb is a game of aim, nerve and a little luck. Two teams face off across a lawn, toppling each other's wooden blocks with underhand throws until someone earns a shot at the king.

Learn to play

The King

× 1

Stands alone at the center of the pitch, crowned and waiting. Topple him last. Knock him over early and the game is lost.

Kubbs

× 10

Five line each baseline. Clear every one on your opponent's side to earn your shot at the king.

Batons

× 6

Thrown underhand, end over end. No sidearm, no helicopters, just a clean vertical spin.

(03) How to play

Easy to learn. Hard to put down.

Top-down diagram of a Kubb pitch: five kubbs on each baseline, the king in the center, and a baton thrown from one baseline to the other. 8 m 5 m King Baseline Baseline
  1. I

    Set the pitch

Mark out a rectangle about 8 by 5 metres. Line five kubbs along each baseline and stand the king in the very center.

  2. II

    Clear the field

Teams take turns throwing six batons underhand, end over end, at the kubbs on the opposite baseline.

  3. III

    Raise the fallen

Every kubb you topple is tossed back into your half and stood up. Your opponent has to clear those field kubbs before touching your baseline.

  4. IV

    Topple the king

Clear every kubb on your opponent's side, then take your shot at the king from the baseline. Hit him early and you lose.

(04) Play anywhere

Grass, sand or snow. Any ground will do.

Kubb needs nothing but a reasonably flat patch of open ground, so the season never really has to end.

Grass

The classic

Backyards, parks and open fields. Short, level lawn keeps the kubbs standing tall and the batons flying true.

Sand

Beach kubb

Pieces settle in and stay put. Pack the pitch down near the waterline and play right up to sunset.

Snow

Winter kubb

Stamp out a pitch in packed snow and keep the game going all winter. Every kubb stands out against the white.

Turf

Under the lights

Artificial turf at clubs, schools and indoor venues makes a fast, even surface for league nights and events.

“Great recreational products should perform like equipment and feel like design objects.”
